The Purple Worm Cult goes back to the park and fights mutated halflings that worship some vermin god they've never heard of.

Vancouver Red Box: a site for old school D&D
We ran this one in September! It was surprisingly challenging for the mostly level 4-5 party, though none of them actually got killed or nothin'. Still, the main set-piece encounter is a nice example of how to design a Saturday Night Special.
It is? How so?
(The only thing that seemed challenging for the worm cult was the carrion crawler, but maybe that's because I used kobold stats for the halfling-pedes.)
The two halfling cultists managed to lure half the party into falling into the mist-covered pit where they were attacked by the shadowpede. Meanwhile, cult!Dad plinked at the PCs with arrows while walking on the ceiling. Things might have gone poorly for the PCs if not for their ridiculously high AC and HP scores!
